Theresa M. TwoHearts, 44 of Fort Totten, ND died on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 25, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Charles Leute, O.P. will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Fort Totten. A Wake will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center on Sunday, April 24, 2005 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 8:00 p.m. The Procession to the Fort Totten Recreation Center will leave from the former Lake Country Auto Parking Lot at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Serving as Active Pallbearers will be: Terrence RedOwl, Curtis RedOwl, Richard Feather, Stacy Feather Jr., Calvin Feather, Randall Feather and Tyler Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Leah Wanna, Cora Tiger, Myra Quinn, Melody Lawrence, April St.Pierre, Brenda Whitetail, Lori Thomas, Roseanne Meade, Catalina Herman, Merle McKay, Sandra Demarce, Lois Leben, Kelly and Marty Brave Bull, Dallas and Lois Littlewind, Delores Yankton, Kim Faul, Kelly Cavanaugh, Jodi Arttus, Maggie Chaske and Stacy Anderson. The Spirit Lake Singers and Tony and Vina McDonald will provide music for the services. Theresa Marie TwoHearts was born on February 4, 1961 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake the daughter of Anna TwoHearts and Christopher Alberts. She attended Fort Totten Community School through the 8th Grade. She also attended the Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota for 2 years then went on the Job Corps at Kicking Horse in Montana. After completing Job Corps, she went on to complete a year of secretarial training at UTTC (United Tribes Technical College) in Bismarck. She also attended the Northwest Technical College (Northland Community and Technical College) in Moorhead, Minnesota. She returned to Fort Totten where she made her home with her family. She was employed with the Spirit Lake Head Start Program for a year. She also worked at DTI (Dakotah Tribal Industries). The most enjoyable times in her life were spent with her family and grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed going for walks, playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles. As a teen, she was a traditional dancer and loved attending pow-wows. Theresa is survived by her: Mother: Anna TwoHearts, Ft. Totten Father: Christopher Alberts, Ft. Totten Daughters: Nellie RedOwl, Devils Lake Kristen Ross, Tokio Sons: Terrence RedOwl, Curtis RedOwl and Nico Ross all of Fort Totten Grandchildren: Misty and Hailie Keo Keandre Anderson Brothers: Antoine LaVallie IV, Edward LaVallie and Tyrell Alberts all of Fort Totten Ambrose Alberts, Bismarck Sisters: Juanita Maye, Moorhead Theodora Maye, Fargo Budene Eback and Colleen Cook both of Fort Totten Aunts: Becky, Cathy, Carol and Patricia TwoHearts Lynda and Sally Alberts Winona Fox all of Fort Totten Marie Martin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Virginia Lancelotta, Boston, Massachusetts Uncles: Jerome TwoHearts, Sr., Winterhaven, California Michael TwoHearts, Sr., Devils Lake Francis TwoHearts, Sr., Poplar, Montana Cletus TwoHearts, Clear Lake, MN Bernard TwoHearts Sr, Veblen, South Dakota Isaac TwoHearts, Jamestown, ND Quinten Alberts, Fort Totten Many Nieces and Nephews and Numerous Cousins Special Friend: Gerald “Porky” Lovejoy She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Michael and Rachel TwoHearts; paternal grandparents, George and Alvina Alberts; uncles, Timothy TwoHearts, Sr., John TwoHearts, Roger D. Alberts, Joe Alberts and Allen Alberts; aunt, Julie TwoHearts; sister, Carrie TwoHearts.
