Wayne Kent Hensrud

Wayne K. Hensrud, 50 of Devils Lake, ND died on Sunday evening, September 7, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks due to health problems. Funeral Services for Wayne will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Music will be provided by Paige Dauphinais and Karen Anderson, vocalists and Lynda Pearson, pianist. Wayne Kent Hensrud was born on July 25, 1958 in McVille, ND the son of Elroy and Ethel (Adams) Hensrud. He attended Devils Lake Public Schools and later served in the North Dakota Army National Guard at Camp Grafton. Wayne enjoyed life, fishing, hunting and soap operas. Wayne spent time working on a dude ranch in Colorado as a guide and also some time in Wyoming where he worked as a diesel mechanic before returning to North Dakota to be closer to family and friends. After returning home, Wayne’s health began to fail, but he kept on fishing and feeding horses for friends in the area. Wayne is survived by his parents, father, Elroy Hensrud, Devils Lake; mother, Ethel Brosz also of Devils Lake; brothers, Lance Hensrud of Kemmer, Wyoming; Leslie Hensrud, Devils Lake and sister, Connie Estvold of Fordville, ND. Many nieces and nephews and their families also survive.
