Clarence “Carboo” B. Jetty, 74 of Sheyenne, ND died on Friday, August 22, 2008 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake, ND. Visitation will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND on Wednesday beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial for Clarence will be Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Moen celebrating the Mass. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND with Military Honors accorded by the Lilly-Dionne American Legion Post #262. The Procession to St. Michael’s Catholic Church will leave the Wal-Mart Parking Lot at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Casket Bearers for Carboo will be Andrew Morin, Dallas Delorme, Craig Brown, Alvin Counts, Warren Counts and Marshall Neilsen. Honorary Bearers will be Clarence’s Grandsons, Great Grandsons and Nephews. Music will be provided by Troy DeCoteau of Dunseith and Red Thunder Drum Group of Belcourt Clarence Benjamin Jetty was born on March 21, 1934 at Fort Totten, ND the son of Frank X. and Algenia (St.Claire) Jetty. He grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation, attending school at St. Michael’s Mission School and Fort Totten School. Clarence joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and served his country during the Korean War until 1956. After his honorable discharge, he began working as a semi truck driver, working in Butte, Montana, Los Angeles, California and Tucson, Arizona. In 1976, he moved back to North Dakota and he then met and later married the love of his life, Mary Belgarde. He continued in the trucking business, but mainly drove a gravel truck for many of the local road construction projects. He also worked at Sioux Manufacturing for 10 years and was a bus driver at Four Winds School. Carboo loved horses and traveled throughout the country with race horses and being a part of the Horse Racing Circuit. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards. To remember Carboo, the first thought that comes to mind is his teasing, joking and his wonderful sense of humor. You knew you were loved when you got teased by Carboo. He loved his family with all his heart and as his family we will forever hold his memory and love in our hearts. Clarence is survived by his wife, Mary “Fee” of 31 years of Sheyenne Children: Tom Jetty; Frank (Angela) Jetty;Louie Jetty all of Phoenix, Arizona; Alvin (Marsha) Counts, Langdon, ND; Warren (Claudia) Counts, Belcourt; Alicia (Robert) Clark, Mamott, Arizona; Cathy (Carlos) Zuzweata, Phoenix; Alberta (Randy) Nielsen, Dunseith, ND; Juanita (Shonn) Counts and Wanda (Wade) Counts both of Belcourt. Thirty Four Grandchildren Thirteen Great Grandchildren Sisters: Amelia Thompson, Devils Lake; Carrie (Chuck) Redday, St. Michael; Bernadette (Craig) Brown, Tokio, ND; Maxine (Raymond) Buckles, Fort Totten, ND Brother: Wesley Brown, Fargo/Moorhead area Sisters-In-Law: Helen (Jerry) Nadeau; Darlene (Peter) LaVallie; Eilene Counts; Lucy (Clarence) DeCoteau Brother-In-Law: Dennis (Joan) Belgarde Many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Irene Cavanaugh, Viola Jetty and Verna Jane Dammel and brothers, John, Richard, Elmer, Sylvester, George Napoleon, Francis Wayne and Clifford Ambrose Jetty.
