Lilly Marie Hunt

Lilly M. Hunt, 86, of Fort Totten, ND passed to the Spirit World on April 2, 2005 at her home in Fort Totten. The Wake Service will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2005 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Fort Totten Recreation Center with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Fort Totten. Fr. Charles Leute, O.P. will celebrate the Mass. Lilly will be laid to rest at St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery at Crowhill, ND The procession to the Fort Totten Recreation Center will leave at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday (today) from the Lake Country Auto Parking Lot. Serving as Active Pallbearers: Kelly Hunt, Isaiah Hunt, Rustin Hunt, Sergio Hunt, Nick English, Lee English, Jr., Curtis Hunt and Chris Hunt. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Elaine Robertson, Helena Littleghost, Pauline Grey Water, Jeanine Littleghost, Delores Lohnes, Norma Rainbow, Janice Adams, Winona Fox, Rita Jackson, Tony and Vina McDonald, Selena Iron Hawk, Nancy Litin, Judy Hunt, Yvonne Hunt, Elizabeth Littleghost, Rena Anderson, Kim Cavanaugh, Johanna Hunt, Faye WhiteTail, and all her many friends and family. Lilly Marie began her journey on September 13, 1918 in Fort Totten, ND the daughter of Aaron and Florence Lohnes. Lilly was a nurse’s aid at Fort Totten Hospital in her earlier years. There she met Herbert Hunt. Lilly and Herbert were married February 6, 1939 and began a family together. They had 7 children. Lilly and Herbert moved to Minneapolis, MN with their children and made this their home for about 10 years. In 1968, Lilly and Herbert returned to Fort Totten where Lilly was a stay at home wife/mother. In 1971, Lilly began working at the newly formed St. Jude’s Elderly Center. Lilly dedicated herself to St. Jude’s for the next 25 years. She enjoyed working with the elders and all her other co-workers at St. Jude’s. Lilly finally decided to retire at the age of 76, where she decided that playing bingo at Spirit Lake Casino was a good way to spend her retirement. Lilly enjoyed bingo with her bingo buddies, Norma Rainbow, Delores Lohnes, Elaine Robertson, Helena Littleghost and the rest of the regular bingo crew. Throughout the years, Lilly also enjoyed spring time as a favorite time of year when she could begin her flower garden and work in her yard. This was a wonderful time of year for her to relax and admire her garden. Lilly is survived by her 7 children: Marsha (Lee, Sr.) English Cheryl Hunt Herbert Hunt Jr. Kenny Hunt all of Minneapolis, Minnesota Myra Hunt, Fort Totten Donald Hunt, Devils Lake Ron (Johanna) Hunt, St. Michael, ND Twenty-Two Grandchildren: Starr Edgerton, Kara Hunt, Sergio Hunt, Kelly Hunt, Sherrie Roberts, Gary Hunt, Mark Hunt, Curtis Hunt, Chris Hunt, DJ Hunt, JR Hunt, Lee English Jr, Nick English, Tina English, Tasha English, Deanna (Mark) Lufkins, Jaclyn Littlewind, Ashley Longie, Ron Jr., Rusty Hunt, Samantha Hunt and Crystal Robertson. Thirty-Seven Great Grandchildren Three Great Great Grandchildren Brothers: Eugene Lohnes Roger Lohnes both of Tupelo, Utah David Lohnes, St. Michael Edward Lohnes, Minneapolis, MN Paul Lohnes, San Jose, California Sisters: Elizabeth LaCroix, Devils Lake Margaret Ironheart, St. Michael Lilly was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Jerome Hunt Sr.; parents; grandson, Dwight Wicha Hunt; great grandson, Jamison Jackson-Hunt; sisters, Theresa Zertuche, Marion Griffin and brother, Daniel Lohnes.
