Blanche C. Trottier, 91 of Devils Lake, ND died on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Heartland Care Center in the loving care of her family and Hospice.
Mass of Christian Burial for Blanche will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Robert Pecotte will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Blanche will be David Eidemueller, John Eidemueller, Josh Trottier, Todd Trottier, Troy Trottier, Carson Adam, Barry Ash and Erik Hoeltl.
Reading the Scriptures will be Todd Trottier
Gift Bearers will be Stephanie, Jessica and Kayla Trottier and Amber Hoeltl

Blanche was born on July 21, 1917 at Rolla, ND the daughter of Frank and Julia (Caribou) Martin. She was educated in Rolla, Marty, South Dakota and graduated from Maddock High School. She worked as a nanny in Minneapolis and at Graham’s Island for a time.
Blanche was united in marriage to John B. Trottier on April 24, 1940 in Devils Lake. They established their home on a farm south of Devils Lake where they lived, worked raising turkeys commercially and raised their family. Blanche also worked for the North Dakota Extension Service of Benson and Ramsey County for many years. John and Blanche retired in 1983 and moved to Devils Lake where they lived through the years. John died on June 8, 2005.
Blanche was a former member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and after moving to Devils Lake became a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Altar Society.
When Blanche was younger she enjoyed doing ceramics, but no matter her age, her favorite hobby was shopping. But Blanche’s number one concern was always her family. She loved each and every one of them with all her heart.
Blanche is survived by her children: John R. “Toby” Trottier and his wife, LeElla of Devils Lake; Cindy Eidemueller and fiancé, Mike Brown of Casselton; Gary Trottier and his wife, Nancy also of Devils Lake.
10 Grandchildren: Jamie Trottier, Michelle (Barry) Ash, Todd (Gloriann) Trottier, Troy (Beth) Trottier; David Eidemueller, John Eidemueller; Stephanie Trottier, Jessica Trottier, Josh Trottier and Kayla Trottier
10 Great Grandchildren: Amber (Wade Longie) Hoeltl, Erik Hoeltl, Landon Morin, Trayden Morin, Carson Adam, Brady Ash, Danielle Ash, Colin Trottier, Kelly Opp and Sarah Opp.
2 Great Great Grandchildren: Avery and Drew Longie
Special Friend: Madelynn Kurtz of Devils Lake
Many nieces, nephews and their families also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; grandson, A.J. Eidemueller; brothers, Elmer, Ted, Albert, Arthur and Ernest Martin; sisters, Genevieve Thorenson and Barbara Martin.
