Lucille G. Skyberg

Lucille G. Skyberg, Davenport, Iowa, formally of Devils Lake, ND, went from our arms to the arms of Jesus June 21, 2009. The Memorial Service for Lucille G. Skyberg will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. The Graveside Service for Lucille will be also be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. at the Nisbet Cemetery, Mallory, Minnesota. Honorary Bearers will be Lucille’s eighteen grandchildren. Lucille Skyberg was born in Grand Forks, ND on August 29, 1916. Lucille graduated from Grand Forks Central High School (Class of 34), Grand Forks, ND. She married Marvin Skyberg on November 9, 1935 in Grand Forks. Lucille and Marvin Skyberg lived in Grand Forks, ND for 37 years, Fargo, ND for 3 years and Devils Lake, ND for 47 years. Lucille and Marvin purchased the Kessler’s Meat Market in Devils Lake on Setpember 15, 1959. Lucille worked beside her husband until his death February 22, 1988. Lucille moved to Davenport, Iowa in 2004 where she remained until her death. Lucille was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women (BPW), Red Hat Society, and St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Lucille is survived by her children: Son Duane (Dora) Skyberg, Davenport, Iowa; Daughter Janet (the late Vaile) Pender, Dickinson, ND; Daughter Mary (Richard) Driscoll, East Grand Forks, MN; Daughter Gwen (Paul) Johnson, Stillwater, MN; Son Dennis (Donna) Skyberg, Devils Lake, ND and Daughter Jacque (Rick) Senger, Devils Lake, ND. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Marvin; her parents, William and Nellie Bryson; brothers, Lester and Arthur Bryson and grandson, Michael Johnson.
