Ruth Thelma Klein

Ruth T. Klein, 85 of Munich, ND died on Sunday morning, June 1, 2008 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. The Funeral Service for Ruth will be held at the Swiss Mennonite Church of Alsen, ND on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Virgil Moos will officiate and burial will be in the Alsen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service and time of remembrance at 7:30 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Casket Bearers for Ruth will be grandsons, Bryce Klein, Blake Klein, Dale Klein, Ryan Bartel, Kyle Bartel, Justin Klein, Tyrone Klein, Mitchell Klein, Carson Klein and Marshall Klein. Honorary Bearers will be Ruth’s Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Ruth Thelma Graff was born on June 14, 1922 to John and Inga Graff at Starkweather, ND. She graduated from Starkweather High School in 1941 and attended nursing school in Devils Lake. Ruth and Clarence Klein were married April 22, 1942 in Langdon, ND. Clarence was killed in World War II on April 8, 1945. To them a son, Craig was born. Ruth and Melvin Klein were united in marriage on December 28, 1946 in Alsen. They lived and farmed on Melvin’s parent’s farm until 1978. They then purchased their new home in Munich were they lived through the years. Melvin passed away December 16, 1981. To them were born four children; Douglas, Pamela, Lynn and David. Ruth was a member of the Swiss Mennonite Church and Ladies Mission Society in Alsen. She spent her life being a devoted farm wife and mother. She spent much of her time serving the Lord in her devotion and being a prayer warrior for her family and prayer chain concerns. Ruth is survived by her sons: Craig Klein and his wife, Carol of Fargo, ND; Doug Klein and his wife, Norma Jean of Munich; Lynn Klein and his wife, Joan of Bismarck; David Klein and his wife, Shelly also of Munich; and a daughter, Pamela Bartel and her husband, Doug of Hillsboro, Kansas; along with sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Erling Graff of Devils Lake. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; parents; brother, John Graff; sisters, Agnes Nicholas and Helen Elfman.
