Elizabeth “Liz” Heisler, 83 of Devils Lake, ND died on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake in the care of her daughter and son-in-law and members of Heartland Care.
Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. The Rosary will be led by Julius Senger.
Music will be provided by Paul Traynor and JoDee Lagein
Liz was born on January 3, 1925 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Christine (Keller) Yali. She grew up in Esmond, ND and attended the Isabelle School.
Liz was united in marriage to Frank Heisler on November 3, 1942 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond. They worked on farms near Esmond until moving to Devils Lake in 1943 where they raised their two daughters.
Liz worked for the Coca Cola Bottling Company and AD Cleaners in her younger years. Later in life she cleaned several businesses in Devils Lake until they moved to South Dakota in 1974. They returned to Devils Lake in 1984 making this their retirement home. Liz enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her daughters, granddaughter and great grandchildren. She will be missed!
She is survived by her daughter, Caroline and her husband, David Bertsch of Devils Lake

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank on February 16, 2001; dear daughter, Mary Kraft; parents; sisters, brother, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
