Ottilia “Tillie” Lipp, 95 of Devils Lake, ND died on Monday, May 29, 2006 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial for Tillie will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. C.F. Wilhelm will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Ottilia will be her nephews, Christ Meier and Edwin “Eddy” Lacher and family friends, Richard Hagel, Don Hagel, Jim Pettit and Tom Maloney.
Ottilia Baumgartner was born on August 16, 1910 at Strasburg, North Dakota the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Schneider) Baumgartner. She was reared and educated in the Strasburg area. Tillie lived and worked with her parents until she was united in marriage to Adam S. Lipp on June 18, 1936 at Strasburg, ND. They made their home in many different locations, including Ellendale, Napoleon, Linton and Rugby due to Adam’s work with the United States Department of Agriculture. Mr. Lipp died on November 5, 1989.
Ottilia devoted her life to caring for her husband and family. She enjoyed visiting and sharing a cup of tea with her many dear friends. Ottilia loved to knit, crochet and was an avid collector of many different items that she enjoyed including clocks, dolls and other items. She will be forever loved and missed by all her knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; daughter, Nyla Renee who died when she was 10 months old; sister, Helen Wald and brother, John Baumgartner Jr.
