Grace H. Nelson

Grace H. Nelson, 73 of Devils Lake, North Dakota died on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at her home. Funeral Services for Grace will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. Rev. Harold Ovre, Pastor of St. Olaf Lutheran Church will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Serving as Casket Bearers for Grace will be Grace’s Nephews Grace H. Jacobs was born on September 19, 1932 at New Rockford, ND the daughter of Harold and Nellie Jacobs. She was reared and educated in the New Rockford area, moving with her family to Devils Lake in her teens and completing her education. Grace was united in marriage to Clayton N. Nelson on October 8, 1950 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. They established their home in Devils Lake where they lived, worked and raised their family. Grace worked for a time as a maid at the City Center Motel and as a barmaid at the Mayor Hotel. Clayton died on February 12, 1989. Grace continued to make her home in Devils Lake until the time of her death. Grace enjoyed several pastimes, but her favorite was listening to old-time music. Grace is survived by her Son: Clayton N. Nelson of Grand Forks, ND Daughter: Linda Dailey of Mandan, ND Granddaughter: Laura Dailey Brother-In-Law and Sisters-In-Law: Raymond and Kathryn Nelson, Devils Lake Audrey Shea of Grand Forks Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
