Elizabeth "Betty" Anna Lanz

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Lanz, 80 of Cando, ND formerly of Morton County, ND died on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Towner County Medical Center, Cando, ND. Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Devils Lake. Fr. Joseph D’Aco will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Devils Lake. Elizabeth Anna Lanz, the loving daughter of Michael and Magdalene (Helbling) Lanz was born on January 3, 1929 in Morton County, North Dakota. She came from a large loving family of 15 brothers and sisters. Betty lived at the Grafton State School from May 16, 1937 until February 22, 1981 when she moved to the Resthaven Healtcare Center in Cando. (Now known as the Towner County Living Center). At one time, Betty lived in a group home in Devils Lake. At the time of her death, Betty was again a resident of the Towner County Living Center. Betty made many friends while living in Cando and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She had a strong faith and trust in God and a love for all those who cared for her through the years. Betty is survived by her dear caretakers and many friends.
