Sheri L. Berg Leidholt, 30 of Devils Lake and formerly of rural Starkweather, ND died on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Funeral Services for Sheri will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church, Starkweather, ND with Rev. Craig Wentzel officiating.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A Time of Remembrance and Sharing will be held at Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
Sheri Lorraine was born on May 3, 1980 at Cando, ND the loving daughter of Curtis and Kathy (Dunavold) Berg. She grew up in Starkweather, attended Starkweather Public School and graduated from Starkweather High School with the class of 1998.She was very active in many school activities including chorus, playing the flute in band, basketball and cheerleading. She was also an active member of Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church. Sheri attended Lake Region State College and as part of her college academics, she played with the Devils Lake Elks Band.
Sheri was united in marriage to James Leidholt on May 15, 2010 in Starkweather. They established their home in Devils Lake and Sheri continued to work as a waitress at Mr. and Mrs. J’s Family Restaurant.
Sheri enjoyed riding motorcycle, playing darts and pool, was an avid reader and she especially enjoyed any activity that was an opportunity to spend time with her many friends and dear family. Time with family, friends, co-workers and customers at work was the highlight of any day for Sheri. She loved animals and especially her cat, Oscar.
Sheri is survived by her husband, Jim; parents, Curtis and Kathy Berg of Starkweather; brother, Christopher and his wife Robyn (Orson) Berg of Devils Lake; nieces Taylor and Isabelle; grandparents, Monrad and Bette Berg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Gloria Leidholt of Groton, South Dakota; sister-in-law, Tabitha Leidholt of Ida Grove, Iowa; Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Sheri was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gordon and Lorraine Dunavold.
