James C. MacDonald, 69 of Cando, ND formerly of Devils Lake, ND died on Wednesday, February 01, 2006 at Towner County Medical Center, Cando
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 6, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. C. F. Wilhelm will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Joseph D’aco will lead the service. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for James will be Charles Blomquist, Clint Blomquist, Darrel Landsem, Gary Weber, Larry Sullivan and Lloyd Windjue.
James Claire MacDonald was born on January 7, 1937 in Devils Lake, ND the son of Morrison and Louise (Wilmott) MacDonald. He attended Grand Harbor School and graduated from Devils Lake Central High School. On June 17, 1957 James married Mary Ann Eisele in Devils Lake. They later divorced. He worked for Bridgeman Creamery in Devils Lake for a number of years before he started farming with his father. He later started the Allis-Chalmers dealership in Devils Lake. He worked as a diesel mechanic and also was involved in custom combining work. James was most recently employed as a truck driver out of Grand Forks.
James is survived by his children:

Dan MacDonald also of Tualatin
Michael MacDonald and his wife, Becky of Port Orchard, Washington
Mary Jo MacDonald of Minot, ND
Melissa Moser and her husband, Steve of Devils Lake
And their mother, Mary Ann MacDonald also of Devils Lake
And children Larry MacDonald and Jamie MacDonald and their mother and James’ special friend, Linda Johnston all of Cando, ND
Grandchildren: Kali MacDonald and Dylan and Alexis Moser

David and Hattie MacDonald, Lake Oswego, Oregon

James was preceded in death by his parents.
