Inez Joanetta Landis

Inez J. Landis, 84 of Starkweather, ND died early Saturday morning, December 12, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Inez will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church, Starkweather. Rev. Robert Buechler will officiate and burial will be in the Trinity-Bergen Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Inez Joanetta Myklebust, was born June 24, 1925 at the farm 4 miles east of Starkweather to John and Ingeborg ( Breisnes)Myklebust. She was reared there and attended the Starkweather School, graduating with the class of 1943. After her first marriage to Weston Allen Boyd, they moved to Florida where her son Dennis Allen was born. She then married Walter James Landis, making their home in California and Starkweather. Their two daughters, Mary Louise and Sandra Janine were born in Devils Lake, ND. Inez was employed and retired from the Bank of America. Inez attended UND-Lake Region in Devils Lake and graduated with honors with an Associates of Arts degree at the age of 65. She was very close to her family and will be greatly missed by them all. Inez is survived by a son, Dennis Boyd of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughters Mary Landis- Delacruz of Crystal City, Texas and Sandra Landis-Taylor of Nova Scotia, Canada; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brother Art Myklebust and his wife Doris of Devils Lake and Weston Boyd of El Paso, Texas; Inez was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Landis; brothers, Ted Myklebust and Ben Myklebust and sister, Thelma Hunt.
