Irene Kathryn Gloger

Irene K. Gloger, 85 of Devils Lake, ND died early Sunday morning, December 13, 2009 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake in the loving care of her family and Mercy Hospice. As requested by Irene , a family service was held on Tuesday at the Gilbertson Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Nicla officiated and music was provided by Russell and Lynda Pearson. Irene Kathryn was born on September 13, 1924 at Clyde, North Dakota, the daughter of Albert and Ellen (Larson) Mortenson. She graduated from Alsen High School and then attended the New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo, ND. Irene was employed in Fargo until moving to Devils Lake in 1950 where she has made her home through the years. She was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the WELCA. Irene is survived by her daughters, Maree George and her husband Bill of Maplewood, Minnesota and Lexy Gloger also of Maplewood and son, Scott Gloger of Michigan. Her grandchildren, Will (Jenny) George, Joshua George and Zachary George and Benjamin Harvey and Sydney Harvey. Her sisters, Vi Grant and husband, Fred of Thief River Falls, MN and Audrey Osborne and husband, Larry of Federal Way, Washington. Irene was preceded in death by her parents and husband, LaVerne Gloger. Memorials in Irene’s memory may be directed to St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
