Winnifred L. Heintz, 85 has gone to be with her Holy Father. Winnifred died on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the Meadow Park Care Center, Prescott, Az. where she has been a resident for a short time. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Joseph Christensen will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 29, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Tuesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Winnifred Louise was born February 4, 1921 at Northgate, ND to William J. and Francis B. (Fuchs) Lowe. Much of her youth was spent with her family and grandparents who farmed in western North Dakota. She graduated from St. Catherine's Academy, Valley City and worked at various professions from dental assistant to Secretary-Treasurer of the school for the Deaf at Devils Lake. Wyn met and married John R. Heintz on July 16, 1951 at Buffalo, South Dakota. The couple relocated to Cando, N.D. and later St. Paul, Minnesota, Norfolk, Nebraska and other locations that her husband’s profession took them. Winnifred was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cando and the Catholic Churches in Norfolk, and Prescott. She was a past member of ExLibris Club, Norfolk, Recreational Director, Girl Scouts, Lake Agassiz Council and Volunteered on Red Cross Blood Collection in most locations where she lived. She was a Tutor at N.E. Nebraska Jr. College in English. She is survived by Her husband of 54 years, John R. Heintz, Prescott, Arizona Son: William L. Heintz, Mesa, Arizona Daughter-In-Law: Mary Heintz, Grandchildren: John R. Heintz and his wife, Amanda Anne T. Heintz all of Burnsville, Minnesota Brother: William L. Lowe and Gladyce (Wright) Lowe of Devils Lake Sisters-In-Law: Barbara Uhler and her husband, Albert Claudia Zee Heintz Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Catherine (Vetsch) Heintz; brother-in-law, Leo Anthony Heintz and daughter-in-law, Catherine (Heintz) McDonald and her husband, Raymond.
