Michael A.”Mykal” Meade, of Warwick, ND, age 16 and would have turned 17 on April 23rd, died April 15, found April 28, 2006 on Highway 20 near his home. Funeral Services for Mykal will be held on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Four Winds Gymnasium, Fort Totten. Pastor Kevin Kaufman and Pastor Mindy Meier will officiate and burial will be in the Bdecan Presbyterian Cemetery, WoodLake The Wake and Prayer Service for Mykal will be held on Thursday beginning at 5:00 p.m. also at the Four Winds Gymnasium with the Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The Final Reveiwal on Friday will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m. The Procession to Four Winds will leave the Wal-Mart Parking Lot at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Music will be provided by Michael’s Uncles, Rev. Tony American Horse Jr. and family, and Rev. Weyland American Horse all of Cannonball, ND and Bob and Ada Lower of Minot. Serving as Active Casket Bearers for Mykal will be Ira Woodhull, Kellen LittleWind, Kyle Langstaff, Zack Alberts, Austin LaVallie, Tony IronHeart, C.J. IronHeart and Quentin Lovejoy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Four Winds Basketball Players, Steve Cavanaugh, Rylee Smith, Chanze Herman, Dave DeLa Paz, Dallas LittleWind, Reno Littleghost and coach, Rick Smith; close cousins, Mokes Redfox, Junior Chaske, Brandon Paul, Antoine LaVallie, Jeremy Meade, Jaston McKay, A.J. Jackson, Jarvis Redfox; friends, Allen “Cougar” Mudgett, Sean Gourd, Doug Yankton, Bentley GreyBear Sr., Joe Alberts, Sr., Myra Pearson, Maryann BlackBull, Ivan Lovejoy Jr., Jonathan “JJ” IronHeart, Conrad Longie, Brandon Tikayne, Duane Smith and the Four Winds Junior Class. Michael Albin Meade was born in Bismarck, ND on April 23, 1989, only son of Michael G. Meade and Justine LittleWind. Mykal grew up close to his only sister, Spring Sky Meade and his three adopted brothers, Ira Andrew Woodhull, C.J. IronHeart and Christian Mikeol Jay LittleWind, aka, Mokes Redfox. He attended school at Tate Topa Elementary School and Four Winds High School, both in Fort Totten, ND. He worked several summers for the Spirit Lake Nation Summer Youth Program. Mykal traveled statewide and to other states on a basketball traveling team and they took many championships. Mykal was well known for his 3-point shots. He was called “Trigger” or “Money Mike” for his accuracy as a 3-point shooter. He enjoyed fixing and hooking up car stereo equipment and speakers. He liked to listen to music and play his guitar, drive around with friends and playing x-box with his cousins. He played baseball a lot during the summer months and helped younger youth in their basketball skills. Mykal was a shy, quiet and friendly young man-that did well in school and got along well with peers and staff of Four Winds High School. Mykal was an active member and role model of Bdecan Youth Group. He liked to play basketball with cousins and encouraged them to do their best at sports. Education was a priority for Mykal. He planned to attend college and dreamed of being drafted to the NBA. Mykal is survived by his parents, Michael Meade and Justine LittleWind, Woodlake, ND Sister: Spring Sky Meade, Warwick Special Friend: Shana Martin-Foote Favorite Aunt; Jolene LittleWind and adopted brothers, C.J. IronHeart, Mokes Redfox, Antione LaVallie and Brooke Redfox all of Warwick. Littlewind Jr. and his special loving grandmother, JoAnne R. Redfox; uncles, Jeremy Redfox, Robert “Bob” Redfox, Francis Tikayne Sr., and Leroy Redfox; aunts, Miriam “Coco” Redfox, Karen Redfox Paul and Etta Redfox; cousins, Marion “Med” Redfox, Klo Lynn Redfox, Bernice Paul, Stacy Paul, James “Jimmy” Paul, Emery Tikayne, Shannon Tikayne and Stacy Tikayne.
