Harold H. Armentrout, 47 of Fort Mohave, Arizona formerly of Devils Lake and Minnewaukan, ND died on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 in the care of his family and Hospice at Las Vegas, Nevada. A Memorial Service for Harold will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND. Rev. Harold Ovre will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lake Region Honor Guard and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Serving as Honorary Bearers will be Harold’s family and all those in attendance. Music will be provided by Jamie Travers Harold Howard Armentrout was born on July 6, 1962 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake the son of Harold John and Barbara (Hanson) Armentrout. He was reared and educated in the Devils Lake area, graduating from Minnewaukan High School. Harold entered the United States Army at Fargo, ND on March 26, 1982 and served with Battery B, 1st Battalion as a Cannon Crewman. His overseas duty was served in Korea. Harold was honorably discharged on March 23, 1984 at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Harold’s dream of a military career could not be fulfilled after his accident, but Harold found a new love in farming. He worked for many years at Long Lake Farms (Huffman Farms) at rural Minnewaukan. For the past several years, Harold has made his home with his mother in the Bullhead City, Arizona area. Harold was an avid outdoorsman who loved the land, hunting and fishing. The best hunting and fishing was when he could share it with his friends and family. Harold is survived by his loving family-his mother, Barbara Armentrout of Fort Mohave, AZ; sister, Robin Huffman of Minnewaukan; brothers, Mark (Penny) Armentrout and Monte Armentrout all of Devils Lake, Bradley Armentrout of Minnewaukan and Todd Armentrout of Maddock, ND. Eleven Nieces and Nephews and many great nieces and great nephews. Uncles: Bruce (Barbara) Hanson, San Diego, California and Howard (Delores) Armentrout, Missouri; Aunts: Delores Common, Grand Forks and Norma (Art) Skramstad, Devils Lake; Harold was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Harold; brothers, Jim Armentrout and Terry Armentrout; sister, Roxanne Armentrout and nephew, Jason Huffman.
