Frank “Jack” E. Reeves, 88 a long time farmer and rancher of Warwick, ND died on Wednesday, May 03, 2006 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Frank will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Warwick Lutheran Church, Warwick. Rev. David Nichols will officiate and burial will be in the Warwick Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday, May 5, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Pallbearers for Jack will be Russell Wallace, David Eversvik, Emerson Wood, David Kerr, Rodney Ivesdal, Wayne Simon, Rodney Brown, Lee Anderson and Melvin Beckstrand. Honorary Pallbearers will be: All members of the Warwick Lutheran Church. Frank Elgin Reeves was born March 10, 1918 at the family home near Warwick, ND to Clyde and Eva (Long) Reeves. Jack attended grade school at Free People’s School near Warwick. He attended high school in Warwick for 2 years and then graduated Maddock High School on June 3, 1937. He attended North Dakota State University for about a half a year before returning to the family farm. During his boyhood he enjoyed riding his Shetland ponies and swimming in the lake in front of his home, now called Reeves Lake. He started raising Hampshire pigs when he was in the 7th and 8th grades. As he grew older he began raising Hereford cattle. Jack married Eunice Clock on July 14, 1948 in Devils Lake. They lived on a farm by the Sheyenne River for the first few years of their marriage. They later bought a farm, 6 miles north of Hamar, from Olga Anderson who was like a grandmother to them. They had two children, Jeanne and Jerry. Jack served on the Warwick Lutheran Church Board and Warwick Public School board. He liked to hunt, fish and ride horseback as he looked after his Herefords. He enjoyed traveling, especially down south to see relatives. Upon his retirement in 1979, Jack and Eunice moved to Warwick. He took up the hobby of carving and has given many of his carvings to friends across the area. He enjoyed reading about history and then discussing it with his friends. In 2002, Jack and Eunice moved to Devil slake where they have since made their home. Jack always enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives. He was a member of the Warwick Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge, Lake Region Woodcarver’s Club, North Dakota Stockmen’s Association and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eunice Daughter: Jeanne Keller and her husband, Rodney of Fargo and their children, Cassandra and Matthew. Son: Jerry Reeves of Crary and his children, Jessica, Kyle, Megan and Christopher; Great Grandchildren: Brittany and Zachary Mother of his grandchildren, Nance Reeves Sisters-In-Law: Jean Ivesdal, Devils Lake and Dolorous Kerr of Mankato, MN Many Nephews and Nieces also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva in 1921 and his father, Clyde in 1945; brothers, Paul and Bill and wife, Beatrice and sister, Lola Boe and husband, Knute.
