Henry P. Bensrud, 85 of Devils Lake died on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Henry will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. Rev. Rafe Allison, Pastor of Peace Lutheran Church, Devils Lake will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Henry Palmer Bensrud was born on August 10, 1920 at Lakota, North Dakota the son of Haakon and Ellen (Peterson) Bensrud. He attended the Bartlett Public School and later the Michigan Public School. He helped on his parents’ farm for many years until his marriage to Grace Bina in June of 1952 at Devils Lake. They established their home in Devils Lake where they lived and worked through the years. Henry was employed at Goodman Electric for several years and they worked in maintenance at Prairie View Elementary School until he retired. Grace died on May 17, 2003. Henry has been a resident of Heartland Care Center since 2002. He was a former member of the Devils Lake Eagles Lodge. Henry is survived by his son, Randy Bensrud, Devils Lake Sister: Myrtle Rickert also Devils Lake Brother: Rudolph Bensrud and his wife, Florestine, Lino Lakes, Minnesota Nieces: Sherrie Bohnen, Forest Lake, Minnesota Cynthia Grant, Lino Lakes, Minnesota Jeanine Mehdizadeh, Superior, Wisconsin Many Grand Nieces and Grand Nephews He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace and daughter, Susan Bensrud.
