Patrick Francis Schneider, the loving son of Anthony and Irene (Schaan) Schneider was born on July 11, 1953 at Rugby, ND. At a young age, he moved with his parents to the Devils Lake area where he made his home until his death. Patrick attended the Noonan Township School, rural Devils Lake and graduated from Devils Lake High School with the class of 1971. After graduating, Patrick attended Lake Region Junior College and also worked for several area farmers. Patrick was united in marriage to Cynthia Spah on July 23, 1976 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake where they also established their home. Patrick began his career as a meat cutter with Christie’s Fairway Foods. After the store was sold in 1986, Patrick continued to work for the new owners of Wally’s Supermarket where he served as the manager of the Meat Department for many years. In September of 2001, Patrick pursued other job avenues, working at Pugsley’s Sandwiches and the Comfort Inn. But he soon returned to work as a meat cutter, working in the Meat Department at Leever’s County Market for the past five years. Patrick was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and former member of the Eagles. When Patrick wanted quiet time to himself he enjoyed woodworking and shared his creations with his family and friends. But when Patrick wanted to be surrounded by the joy, love and happiness of family he was camping with his family or taking his grandchildren fishing. No one was happier than Grandpa Pat, when his grandchildren caught a bigger fish than him. Patrick was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather and our hearts ache with sadness but our memories of his love and our time together make us smile. Patrick is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cindy; his children, Tanya Schneider and Justin Schneider and his wife, Melissa all of Devils Lake; his four grandchildren, Bailey, Cole, Dylan and Sara Schneider; parents, Anthony and Irene Schneider of Devils Lake; brothers and sisters, Clem (Linda) Schneider of Hickory, North Carolina, Cathy (Bill) Cox, Bainbridge, Georgia, Barbara (Don) LaBarre of Devils Lake, Robert (Vickie) Schneider of Crary, ND, Richard (Pam) Schneider of Harwood, ND, Ron (Shelley) Schneider and Bonita (Bill) Burdick all of Devils Lake and Shirley (Joe) Tavis of Hazen, ND; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sandi (Jim) Kingore, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Diane (Ray) Gustafson, Maddock, ND, Gary (Ann) Spah, Ashley, ND, Debbie (Dennis) Blomster, Devils Lake, Steve Spah also of Devils Lake and Lynette (Carl) Hanson of Cokato, MN; Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and special friend Whisper also survive.
