Gregory R. Regan, 54 of Fargo formerly of Webster, ND died on Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fargo.
Mass of Christian Burial for Greg will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team.
Reading the Sacred Scriptures will be Cheryl Hefta. Music will be provided by Kevin Regan and Audrey Myklebust. Gift Bearers will be Anthony Regan, Marissa Regan, Sadie Hefta and Catlyn Christie.
Gregory Robert was born on July 13, 1955 in Devils Lake, ND the son of Richard P. and Agnes M. (Lies) Regan. He was reared on the family farm in the Webster area, attending the Webster School and graduating from Devils Lake Central High School with the class of 1973. He then attended Lake Region Junior College and graduated with an Associates of Arts degree in 1975. After graduation, Greg worked for several years on the railroad and also went south with a custom combining crew. Greg was at one time married to Connie Schlieve.
Greg entered the United States Army on February 12, 1986 and served his country with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 92nd Engineering Battalion at Fort Stewart, Georgia and also served for a time in Belgium. After his honorable discharge on February 16, 1988 he lived and worked in Jacksonville, Florida until 1994 when he returned to North Dakota. At the present time, Greg was living in Fargo. Greg was a member of the Devils Lake Elks Lodge.
Greg was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing.
Greg is survived by his loving family; his sons, Landon Regan of Fargo, Nathan Regan of Devils Lake and Zachary Regan; his mother, Agnes Regan and father, Dick Regan and his wife, Candy all of Devils Lake; his brothers and sisters, Ken Regan and his wife LuAnn and Dale Regan and his wife Rene also of Fargo, Cheryl and her husband Arlynn Hefta of Devils Lake, Kevin Regan and his wife Brenda of Webster, Teresa and her husband Dean Austad of Fargo and Dr. Sandra Regan and her husband Dan Roberts of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and friend Sarah also of Fargo.
Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rube and Sybil Regan and Clemence and Herminia Lies.
