John Eugene Peterson

John E. Peterson, 75 of Sheyenne, ND and formerly of Scottsdale, Arizona died on Thursday morning, November 5, 2009 at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford. A Memorial Service for John will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. John Eugene Peterson was born November 18, 1933 in Cando, ND to Mabel (Dix) and Eric Peterson Sr. He was reared and educated in the Cando area. John was an expert machinist and he used his expertise to assist companies in the United States and overseas to establish their own machine companies. He also trained the employers and employees on how to operate and maintain the equipment. John’s hobbies included racing cars, riding his Harley Davidson across the country and horses. John is survived by his brother, Eric Peterson Jr., Cando, ND; sisters, June Grande of Grand Forks, ND, Betty Schneider of Pasadena, Texas and Ella M. Belle of Cando; John is also survived by three daughters, Jeannette Peterson-Kueneman, Landers, Wyoming, Karen June Peterson and Cheryl Ann Peterson-Logan both of Oberon. John was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Eugene (“Scooby”) Peterson; a granddaughter and a great granddaughter.
