Adrian Daniel Lohnes

Adrian D. Lohnes, Ce Tan Luta (Sacred Redtail Hawk) 19 years old, of St. Michael, ND died on Friday, April 10, 2009 as a result of a motor vehicle accident at rural St. Michael. Funeral Services for Adrian will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Ken Bowman will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Casket Bearers for Adrian are Marlon Smith, Aric Moen, Lance Lovin, Dustin Marchand, Dane Allapowa, Dustin Lohnes, Ty Cheromiah and Dylan Lohnes. Honorary Bearers will be David Lohnes Jr., Douglas Lohnes, Dana Lohnes, Eric Lohnes, Derrick Lohnes, Skip Longie Jr., Ken Foster Jr., Greg Holybull, Geramiah Holybull, Tyson Holybull, Marlon Smith and Rhiana Smith-Cuvas, the Class of 2008-2009 and his many dear friends. Music will be provided by Patty Cote and James Travers, vocalists, Lynda Pearson, organist and the Spirit Lake Nation Drummers. Adrian Daniel was born on December 20, 1989 in Mesa, Arizona, the son of Daniel and Ruby (Foster) Lohnes. He grew up in the Devils Lake area, attending PrairieView Elementary School, Central Middle School and was now a Senior at Devils Lake High School. As a student, Adrian played football and basketball and was a member of the Band and Choir and had recently found a new interest in Drama. Adrian loved to skateboard and play video games. With a sense of pride and love in our hearts, we looked forward to Adrian’s graduation and what the future would hold. We will now hold in our hearts forever our love and our pride in our dear son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle and cousin. We will so dearly miss his sparkling eyes, his bright smile and his warm and loving embrace. Adrian is survived by his loving parents: Daniel and Ruby Lohnes of St. Michael Sisters: Dani Lohnes at home in St. Michael and Rhiana (Jorge) Smith-Cuvas of Arizona Brother: Marlon (Cynthia) Smith also of Arizona Grandparents: David (Jeannie) Lohnes Sr. of St. Michael, ND; Ruth Neconish-Lohnes of Wisconsin and Anna Foster of Arizona God Parents: Skip and Cheryl Longie Jr. of Devils Lake Uncles: David Lohnes Jr., Douglas (Anita) Lohnes, Dana (Tasha) Lohnes, Eric Lohnes, Derrick Lohnes and Kenneth (Theresa) Foster Jr.; Aunts: Pam (Greg) Holybull, Lisa (Vincent) Romero, Susanna Foster and Helen Cheromiah; Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth C. Foster Sr. and great grandparents, Marie and Joseph Neconish.
