Edward M. Larson, 91 of Devils Lake, formerly of Webster, ND died on Monday, April 24, 2006 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Ed will be held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Harold Ovre will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Ed will be Duane Larson, Donald Larson, Gerald Larson, Brian Larson, Dave Hagel and Lyle Johanson.
Music will be provided by Russell Pearson, soloist and Lynda Pearson, organist.
Edward M. Larson was born on August 21, 1914, rural Edmore, ND the son of Hans Peter and Rellie (Kittelson) Larson. He was reared in the rural Edmore area and educated at Prospect, Derrick and Overland Township Schools. On June 17, 1936, Edward was united in marriage to Mathilda “Tillie” Duft at Devils Lake. He managed the service station at rural Churchs Ferry for Ed Hussey for a time. While living in Devils Lake, Ed managed the Westland Oil Service Station and also worked as a carpenter with Torban Davidson. In 1947 they moved to Webster, ND where they owned and operated Ed Larson Service for 50 years retiring in 1997. Ed was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake Eagles Club and the Farmers Union Cooperative. He served as Mayor of Webster and for many years was responsible to alert the Webster community of dangerous weather conditions, fires and other disasters.
Ed had many hobbies and pastimes, but he especially enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with friends and family. He loved to go dancing with his bride and spend time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger, brothers, Melvin, Clarence, Marion, Vernon, Goodwin, Helmer and Albert Larson; sisters, Gena Larson, Lyla Ivesdal and a sister, Gena in infancy.
