Edward “Eddie” W. Daniels, 87 a life long resident of Ramsey County died early Friday morning, December 30, 2005 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial for Eddie will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Joseph Christensen will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m., led by the Knights of Columbus followed by the Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Tuesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Eddie will be Troy Deplazes, Jamie Daniels, Steven Daniels, Craig Daniels, Darrn Horton and Joe Vetsch.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be All of Edward’s Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Reading the Scriptures will be Eddie Daniels Jr.
Gift Bearers will be Meghan McCarthy, Haley Deplazes, Alyna Harrington and Samantha Staloch
Edward William Daniels was born at Devils Lake, ND on July 13, 1918, the son of Roy and Amanda (Hart) Daniels. He lived his entire life in the Devils Lake area and attended the Devils Lake schools. Eddie was united in marriage to Frances M. Senger on July 27, 1942 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They made their home on the farm where they worked side by side and raised their family. In 1979 they moved to Devils Lake. Even after moving to Devils Lake, Ed was very active in the farming operation.
Eddie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and Eagles Club. He served for a number of years on the Creel Township Board.
Eddie had many hobbies and pastimes he enjoyed, especially going out to the farm as often as possible and tending his garden at the apartment. He also thoroughly enjoyed a good game of cards, playing Bingo (he especially liked to win) and visiting with his many friends and neighbors. His greatest joy was going over to the kids house to eat and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
