Anastasia "Anna" Wentz

Anastasia “Anna” Wentz, 92 of Devils Lake, ND died on Monday morning, March 16, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake with members of her loving family at her side. Mass of Christian Burial for Anna will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Serving as Casket Bearers for Anna will be Byron Carlson, Dominic Ebertz, Mike Daniels, Pat Daniels, Terry Eback and Garry Vick. Gift Bearers will be Ashley Romdalvik, Nicole Rohn, Brooke Rohn, Dylan Veer, Shayla Ebertz and Dominic Ebertz Jr. Music will be provided by Jeff Cote and JoDee Lagein. Anastasia, the daughter of John and Magdeline (Lesmeister) Keller was born on March 8, 1917 in Wells County, North Dakota, where she was raised and educated. Anna was united in marriage to John Wentz on October 27, 1936 at Esmond where they made their home. They later moved to Devils Lake where they lived, worked and raised their family and continued to make their home through the years. John died on August 9, 2002. Anna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Anna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Anna’s loving and caring nature was expressed in many ways, especially in her cooking and baking and the sharing of her creations with her family and friends. Anna considered her most treasured moments as the time she spent with her dear family. Anna is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Agnes and Don Gette, Woodbury, Minnesota Angie and Arthur Adahl, Renton, Washington Judy Vick and Byron Carlson of Devils Lake James Wentz of California Grandchildren: Don Gette Jr., Brian (Mary) Gette; Debbie (Troy) Rose, Michael (Michelle) Adahl; Kim (Mike Daniels) Romdalvik, Tracy (Irik) Borrowman and Missy (Dominic) Ebertz; Seventeen Great Grandchildren; One Great Great Grandchild; Sisters: Johanna Hovland, Devils Lake and Sr. Mary Hildegard, Hankinson, ND; Brothers: John (Helen) Keller of Minot, ND and Casper (Lena) Keller of Moorhead, MN; Many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; granddaughter, Sandi Adahl; brothers, Jack Keller, Sebastian Keller, Wendelin Keller and Mike Keller; sisters, Elizabeth Keller, Julia Eback, Rose Sullivan and Lena Hager.
