Sergio Vidal Hunt was born on October 8, 1984 in Santa Clara, California where they resided until 1990 when the family moved back to the Spirit Lake Nation. At the age of seven, Sergio lived in Minnewaukan with his father Tony and attended school in Devils Lake. He later moved to Springfield, Missouri with his sister, Starr. After his freshman year of high school, he decided to go to Quentin Burdick Job Corps in Minot, ND. Upon completing Job Corp Training, he moved to Minneapolis where he lived with his Dad and worked in the construction industry for his step-brother, Jamie Clobes until his return back to the Spirit Lake Nation. While at Fort Totten, Sergion resided with his close cousin Chauncey and brothers and Auntie Antonette “Swato” McDonald whom he considered his second mother. Serg loved and appreciated the friendship of the McDonald family who were all very close and dear to him.
Throughout Sergio’s journey in life, he walked off the path a few times and had many struggles in his young life. Things were just now looking up for him. He was happy and looking forward to starting school again at the College to earn his Associates Degree before his untimely passing.
Sergio enjoyed being at home with his favorite cousins Chauncey and the boys. He loved being in different places and meeting new friends. Like his Dad, Tony, he loved to travel. He was a very kind and loving person, willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He will be dearly missed by all of us.
