Frances A. Michels, 88 of Minot, formerly of Munich and Devils Lake, ND died on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, Minot.
Mass of Christian Burial for Frances will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Charles Leute, O.P. will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Frances will be, Roger Wirth, Fred Wirth, Norman Schommer, Bernard Schommer, Dave Myklebust, Dick Zimmer and Melvin Nosbusch.
Reading the Scriptures will be Bob Borho
Gift Bearers will be Frances’ granddaughters, Lisa, Amy and Kristin
Music will be provided by Lynne Webster and Audrey Myklebust.
Frances was born on April 19, 1920 in Velva, ND the daughter of Frank and Martha (Tholkes) Nosbusch. She was raised and educated in Munich, graduating from Munich High School in the class of 1938.
Frances was united in marriage to Alphonse Michels on November 21, 1945 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Munich. They established their home on the farm at Munich where they lived, worked and raised their family through the years. In 1979 they retired and moved to Devils Lake. In 1998, they moved to Minot to be closer to family. Alphonse died on November 6, 2001.
Frances was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Choir and St. Mary’s Altar Society of Munich, St. Joseph Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters, Devils Lake and after moving to Minot has been a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Frances devoted her life to her family and her church. She will be dearly missed by her family and many dear friends.

Her Children: Harold Michels of Minot and Gerald Michels and his wife, Debby of 1817 10th Street SW, Minot, ND 58701;
Granddaughters: Lisa, Amy and Kristin;
Great Grandson: Dryden
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alphonse; sisters, Leona Janowski and Dorothy Bednar.
