CLARENCE G. PETERSON, 80 of rural Devils Lake, ND on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Clarence will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. James Travers will officiate and burial will be in the Norway Lutheran Cemetery, rural Devils Lake in the spring. Friends may sign the register book at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Clarence George was born on September 15, 1928 at Devils Lake, ND the son of Isaac and Clara (Farbord) Peterson. He grew up in the Grand Harbor Township area and also lived for 6 years in Williston. He attended a country school in Grand Harbor Township for his elementary education then high school in Devils Lake, graduating from Devils Lake Central High School. He then helped on the family farm until he joined the United States Army in 1948. After his honorable discharge, Clarence returned to the family farm where he lived and worked through the years, retiring in 1988. For the past few years, Clarence has made his home in Devils Lake. Clarence is survived by his loving family: Brother: John Peterson of Devils Lake Sisters: Mildred Simpson and her husband, Carson of Denver, Colorado Evelyn Devany and her husband, Roland of Tacoma, Washington May Mikkelson-Fleisher also of Devils Lake Several nieces and nephews and their families also survive. Preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Don Fleischer.
