Roxanne Herald Lenoir, Ta Wanatan Ista Mani Wi (She who walks through the Eye of Storm Woman) 43 of St. Michael, ND died on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake with her loving and caring family at her side. Funeral Services for Roxanne will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND with Fr. Brian Moen officiating. A Wake Service will be held immediately afterwards at the St Michael Recreation Center with a Prayer Service and Rosary at 8:00 p.m. A Procession will leave the Wal Mart Parking lot a 4:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Visitation will continue at the St. Michael’s Recreation Center on Thursday morning until 11:00 a.m. with burial in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Dennis Poni-Cappo, Jarrett Smith Sr., Marlin Herald, Michael Kahnapace, Dane Herald, Daniel Herald Jr., Robert Thompson Sr., James Thompson III and Virgil Herald Jr. Honorary Bearers are Vanessa Thomas, Candida Thomas, Claudette Williams, Budine Alberts, Colleen Alberts, Lisa Chaske, Debbie Chaske, Colleen Chaske, Bobbi Baker, Myra Pearson, Andrea Ironshield, Clarice Lawrence, Valerie Yankton, Paulette Lenoir, Lilly Owlboy, Janice Malaterre, Cindy Thompson, Sherry Thompson, Sherry Guy, Robin Kleese, and Phyllis Luger Roxanne Hollis was born January 12, 1966 to William and Mary M. (Littleghost) Herald in Devils Lake, ND. She attended grade school in St Michael and finished school in Fort Totten. Roxanne resided in Fort Totten before moving to Minneapolis, MN. She loved to travel, visiting and living in many areas of the country including Albuquerque, Las Cruses and Gallup, New Mexico, Floydada, Texas and Grand Forks before settling back home. Roxanne was always ready to joke and tease with everyone she met; her personality and humor will be sorely missed by many.
