Eva Kraft, 93 of Devils Lake, ND passed away September 17, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Devils Lake. Mass of Christian Burial for Eva will be held on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Serving as Casket Bearers for Eva will be Justin Kraft, Nathan Miller, Kevin Kraft, Gary Koble, Codey Koble, Cory Johnson, Doug Kraft and Alan Clune. Reading the Sacred Scriptures will be Gary Koble Gift Bearers will be Parker and Makenna Koble and Cherish and Chelsy Johnson Extraordinary Minister will be Ray Kraft Music will be provided by Tom Burckhard, soloist and Lynda Pearson, organist Eva Bachmeier Kraft was born October 3, 1914 in Orrin, ND the daughter of Philip and Julia (Ochs) Bachmeier. She grew up on her parents’ farm and was educated at a country school in Orrin. Eva was united in marriage to Adam Kraft on November 29, 1933 in Orrin. They made their home in Orrin for a short time before moving to Devils Lake. Adam died in 1987. Eva was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society, where she spent many hours working for funeral s, weddings and cooking at Camp Grafton as only a part of the many society duties. Eva was a homemaker most of her life, taking much pride in caring for her husband and four children. Eva was a hard worker and spent much time canning, cooking and performing other domestic chores. She was a wonderful and meticulous seamstress. She made everything from clothes to coats and draperies. Her skills of embroidery, crocheting and quilting were creative and refined. She loved flowers and always had many blooming in her yard. But most of all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Eva is survived by her loving children, Pius Kraft and Duane Kraft both of Devils Lake, Donna Clune of Seattle, Washington and Marlene (Joe) Bertsch also of Devils Lake. Grandchildren: Debbie Greising also of Seattle, Charlotte Kraft of Devils Lake, Doug (Kay) Kraft of Gulfport, Mississippi, Kim Kraft and Kevin Kraft, both of Devils Lake, Carrie Jo (Gary) Koble of Vermilion, South Dakota, Michelle (Jeff) Daughs of Yakima, Washington, Alan (Deanne) Clune of Northland, Washington and Shannon (Cory) Johnson of Audubon, Minnesota. Thirteen Great Grandchildren Two Great Great Grandchildren Sisters: Rose Weigel of Rugby, ND and Lena Burgard of Minot, ND Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; two children in infancy; seven sisters and six brothers.
