Harold W. Olson, 73 of Devils Lake, ND formerly of Edmore, ND died on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at his home in the loving care of his family.
Mass of Christian Burial for Harold will be on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with burial in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and then at the church from 2:00 p.m. until time of the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Harold will be his grandchildren.

Harold Wayne was born on January 29, 1935 at Cando, ND the son of Samuel and Hazel (Jones) Olson. He grew up and was educated in the Edmore area. In 1957, Harold moved to Devils Lake and worked at Lake Region Sheet Metal and also at the Gambles-Robinson Store.
On June 4, 1958, Harold was united in marriage to Rosella “Sally” Hoffart at St. Joseph Catholic Church and they were blessed and thankful to be able to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary a few months ago. After their marriage, they established their home in Grafton, ND where Harold worked as a plumber for Kutz and O’Brien. In 1970, the family moved back to Devils Lake. Harold worked at Klemetsrud Plumbing and Heating and also at Hasse Plumbing. He also farmed in the Starkweather area for several years. Harold was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Eagles Lodge.
Harold was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and share the bounty with his family and friends. He enjoyed a long ride in the country. He had great respect for the land and the beauty of the countryside and a field ready for harvest. Harold loved his family and was proud of them all.
Harold is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosella “Sally” Olson of Devils Lake
Children: Deb Isakson of Jamestown, ND; Doug Olson of Devils Lake; Doreen Felch and her husband, Gordie of Fargo, ND; DeWayne Olson and his wife, Kimberly of Bismarck; Grandchildren: Shawn (Christie) Olson, Maddock, ND, Christopher (Caron) Isakson, Fort Benning, Georgia, Jennifer Felch (Brian) Fargo, Samantha Olson, Missoula, Montana, Lea Isakson, Grand Forks, Ben Felch, Fargo, Kayla Kalis, Jeffrey Olson and Codi Olson all of Bismarck and great grandson, Corey Olson, son of Shawn and Christie.
Many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna; granddaughter, Brandi; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Francis and Irene Wilhelmi; brother-in-law, Leonard Hoffart; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anton and Theresa Hoffart.
