Pat was united in marriage to Maurice M. Heisler on January 16, 1952 at Devils Lake. They established their home in Devils Lake where they lived, worked and raised their family. Pat worked for Western Insurance for a time and then in 1977 began as manager of the TownsEdge Complex for over 13 years. In 1990, she retired and she and Maury spent most of their retirement years at their Wood Lake home. Pat’s passion was flowers and with their beauty she transformed indoor and outdoor space into a garden paradise. When the outdoor weather was not compatible to flowers, she and Maury tended the birds of the area and enjoyed bird watching as a hobby. Pat was an avid reader and was known to read 15 books a month, but the morning routine was faithfully working the crossword puzzle in the daily newspaper. She had so many talents with crocheting and ceramics among her favorites. She so lovingly shared the many afghans, ceramic and other creations with her dear family and many friends. Pat’s family was always her number one priority. Pat enjoyed the daily visits and calls from her children and especially enjoyed visiting with the grandchildren who shared all of their special moments and adventures with Grandma. Sometimes in the busyness of life, I love you wasn’t always spoken, but it was the special ingredient in Pat’s homemade chicken soup. Pat was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to many and though our hearts ache, her memory will be with us forever. Pat is survived by her husband of 57 years, Maurice “Maury”; Children: Pam Heisler of Grand Forks and her dear friend, Doug Schell; Tim Heisler and his wife, Myrna and Ron Heisler and his wife, Karla all of Devils Lake; Marcy Volk and her husband, Pat of Bismarck, ND; Grandchildren: Tami (Jeff) Schumacher, Alex (Kim) Heisler, Tara Heisler and Erin (Doug) Noll; Matthew (Anne) Durbin, Trisha (Ben) Adamson, Heather (Brock) Libby and Christopher Durbin; Levi (Randi) Heisler and Mataya Heisler; Step Grandsons: Rick Volk and Chris Volk; Nineteen Great Grandchildren; Sister: Lola Schmaltz and her husband, Jerry of Fargo, ND; Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Lucille and daughter, Sonja Durbin;
