Marie (Simon) Woldmoe

Marie Woldmoe, 86 of Hampden, ND died on Saturday evening, November 5, 2005 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Marie will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church, Starkweather, ND. Rev. Robert Buechler and Pastor Don Reynolds will officiate and burial will be in the Storlie Cemetery, rural Hampden, ND. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Casket Bearers will be: Bruce Simon, Wayne Simon, Steven Simon, Roger Pederson, Pete Martinson and Howard Skaar. Music will be provided by Dennis J. Dockter, Soloist and Carol Sue Pederson, Organist. Marie Simon was born on November 15, 1918 at Hampden, ND the daughter of Herman and Helen (Padrutt) Simon. She was reared and educated in Hampden, graduating from Hampden High School in 1936. Marie was united in marriage to William O. “Bill” Woldmoe on October 14, 1937 in Devils Lake. They established their home on the farm in Northfield Township, rural Hampden where they lived almost their entire life moving to Devils Lake in May of 2004. Marie farmed along side her husband and always had chickens, eggs and cream. She was an avid gardener and spent many hours canning her produce. She was also an excellent cook and seamstress. Marie was a former member of Zoar Free Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was presently a member of Trinity-Bergan Lutheran Church and the WELCA. Marie was truly thankful for the many blessings in her life, especially her loving husband, son, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bill of Devils Lake Grandson: Troy Woldmoe and his wife, Helen of Brooklyn Park, MN Granddaughter: Paula Kittelson and her husband, Eric of Maple Grove, MN Great Grandsons: Connor and Tyler Kittelson Sister: Gertrude Anda, Fargo, ND Brother: Ben Ray (Edna) Simon, Starkweather, ND Many Nieces and Nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Pat Woldmoe; brothers, Norman, Kenneth, Hovey and Earl Simon; sisters, Iris Herman and Beatrice Pederson.
