Steven Dale Christianson

Steven D. Christianson, 49 of Rolla formerly of Devils Lake, ND died on Saturday evening, August 4, 2007 at the Presentation Medical Center, Rolla. Funeral Services for Steven will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Harold Ovre will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Music will be provided by Mary Oehlke, soloist and Lynda Pearson, pianist. Steven Dale was born in Devils Lake on March 25, 1958, the son of Gordon and Faye (Schickling) Christianson. He grew up and was educated in Devils Lake. He worked as a mechanic at Riggin Motors and also at Miller Ford. He later owned and operated his own air conditioning service and repair in the Devils Lake area and then in Pensacola, Florida. In 1990, due to health problems, he was forced to retire. In 2001, Steve moved to Rolla where he made his home at the time of his death. Steven was at one time married to Mary Mercer. Steve enjoyed camping and photography. He treasured his family and their support during his battle with cancer. Steven will be forever loved and in the hearts of his family and friends. Steve is survived by his mother, Faye Christianson of Devils Lake Brothers and Sister: Mark Christianson, Pensacola, Florida Sandra Mercer and her husband, Allan of Grand Forks Randy Christianson and his wife, Bev of Geneva, Florida Nephews and Niece: Keith Mercer, Garret Christianson and Genny Christianson Fiance: Susan Hamley, Rolla Aunt: Judy Gunn and her husband, Lee also Pensacola He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon; sons, Steve and Michael and grandparents, Melvin and Margaret Christianson and Ralph and Hazel Schickling.
