Carol E. Schwols, 72 of Devils Lake, formerly of Leeds, ND died on Friday, September 14, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center, Minot, ND.
Funeral Services for Carol will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Leeds Lutheran Church, Leeds, ND with Dr. Richard Budd officiating. Burial of Carol and the cremains of her husband, Wallace who passed away on January 8, 2003 will be in the Leeds Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Tuesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Carol will be Justin Sandberg and her grandchildren, Amanda Rekkedal, Scott Jabs, Matthew Jabs, Sarah Schwols and Seth Schwols.
Music will be provided by Renee Gilderhus.
Carol Elaine was born January 1, 1935 in McClellan Township, Benson County, to John and Emma (Nelson) Sandberg. Carol attended school at the Hathaway School in Harlow and the Benson County Agricultural School in Maddock. On January 1, 1953, Carol was united in marriage to Wallace Schwols in Sisseton, South Dakota. They lived in Fargo for a time and then moved to Devils Lake in 1970 to form Fiberglass Manufacturing Corporation and later owned and operated a Chem-Dry Carpet Cleaning franchise. In 1986, they moved to Minot to own and operate a Chem-Dry Carpet Cleaning franchise there. They made their home in Minot until 2003 when Wallace passed away and Carol returned to Devils Lake to make her home closer to family.
Carol was a member of the Harlow Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family. She was always interested and involved in their activities and was very proud of their accomplishments. She will be greatly missed by her dear family and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace; brothers, John Sandberg, Curtis Sandberg, Albin Sandberg and Joseph Sandberg; sisters, Alice Schwols and Donna Bird.
