Anne was born on August 14, 1936 at York, ND the daughter of Rudolph and Iona (Rude) Ritterman. She attended country school and graduated from Leeds High School in 1954. She then attended Minot Business College, graduating in 1956. She moved to Rugby, ND and was employed in the Business Office at the Good Samaritan Center. On September 8, 1957, Anne was united in marriage to Derrel D. Britsch at the Leeds Lutheran Church. While Derrel served in the US Army, stationed at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Anne worked at the Woolworth Central Accounting Office. From 1960 to 1964, they made their home in Hansboro, ND. They then moved to Grand Forks, ND and Anne again put her business skills to work as the bookkeeper for the Dakotah Hotel. They also lived for a time in Portland, Oregon, Minneapolis and Staples, Minnesota. In 1976, they returned to North Dakota and moved to Devils Lake where they made their home through the years. Anne worked along side her husband and son in the family accounting practice from 1970 until her death.
Anne was very active in all aspects of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, she was member of the Rebekah’s and also was active in the Republican Party. She was a loyal Fighting Sioux and Minnesota Twins fan, and enjoyed traveling with her family.
Anne’s life was all about family. She always put family first. Even in these last days, Anne’s only concern was her family. Of the many titles Anne had in her life, the one she treasured the most was “Grandma”. If you were to look up the word “Grandma” in the dictionary, you would find all the caring and loving traits of Anne as the definition. She showed her love and care to many others with her famous apple pie and the never empty jelly bean jar at the office.
Our beloved Anne will be forever loved, forever missed and forever in our hearts.
