Marjorie M. Murray, 78 of Devils Lake, ND died on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Funeral Services for Marge will be held on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Rafe Allison will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Marjorie M. Berg was born on October 11, 1927, the daughter of Emil and Anna (Steinke) Berg at rural Devils Lake, ND, She was educated in Devils Lake and made her home in the Devils Lake area for most of her life. She was united in marriage to Donis L. Murray on September 23, 1944 at Valley City, ND where they established their home for a short time. They moved to Devils Lake where they would live, work and raise their family. Marge worked for many years at the Rexall Drug. After her family had grown and left home, she went to work in the Physical Therapy Department at the Heartland Care Center. Donis died on March 16, 2003. Marge was a very active member of Peace Lutheran Church and was involved in many aspects of the church including the Women’s organization and the Peace Makers Quilting Club. Marge was all about volunteerism, charity and love. She spent many hours at Rexall Drug collecting dollars for the March of Dimes and received an award for the many years she worked tirelessly to raise funds with the Money Tree she had become famous for. She volunteered as a reader at Prairieview School and was known as “Grandma Murray” by many of the children. Marge had many hobbies and pastimes including many crafts, embroidery, and other handiwork and was always and avid reader.. Marge devoted her life to caring for others and will be forever loved and forever missed by all whose lives she touched. Marge is survived by her sons: Richard Murray and his wife, Pery of Depoe bay, Oregon Lee Murray and his wife, Trish of Kansas City, Kansas Adopted Daughter: Laura Murray of Minneapolis, Minnesota Six Grandchildren Nine Great Grandchildren Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donis; sisters, Joyce Oien, Lois Boehmer and Inez Mahanna. Memorials may be directed to Peace Lutheran Church, Devils Lake, ND.
