Carol E. Anderson, 67, Fargo, ND died on Monday, October 9, 2006 at the Jamestown Hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Services for Carol will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Jamie Desai will officiate and burial will be in Devils Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a time of sharing and reflection at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Carol Evonne Anderson was born on July 27, 1939 at Devils Lake to Walter and Eva (Sorbel) Anderson of Devils Lake, formerly of Crary, ND. She grew up on a farm and attended Crary School and graduated in 1957. Carol was very active in sports, especially basketball, Glee Club, school plays and 4-H. She attended Valley City State Teacher’s College. She worked for Leevers Super Value till she moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she worked for Warren Air Force Base.
In 1960, Carol moved to Fargo, ND and attended Interstate Business College and graduated with a business certificate. In 1961, she went to work for McDonalds Livestock Company in West Fargo, ND as bookkeeper and office manager, retiring in 2001. She recently worked part-time at the Radisson Hotel in Fargo.
Carol was a lifetime member of the First Lutheran Church of Crary until it closed in the late 1980’s where she was in the church choir and also was a Sunday School teacher. Carol was now a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Devils Lake. Since 1968, Carol has been a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Carol loved to ski, bowl, fish and pet sit. But above all, Carol’s focus was always her family and friends.
Carol is survived by her brother, Ron Anderson of Crary and her sister, Janice and brother-in-law, Ron Wilhelm of Torrington, Wyoming.
Many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, numerous cousins and dear friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
