Susanne K. Gonser-Engstrom Stenson, 39 of Rock Lake formerly of Devils Lake and Leeds, ND died on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Funeral Services for Susanne will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Devils Lake, ND. Rev. Marvin Winstryg will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Susanne will be Jordon Stenson, Kevin Wixo, Erik Engstrom, Shannon Mattson, Steve Stenson and Bill Reiger.
Honorary Pallbearers will be All of Susanne’s dear family and many friends.
Susanne Karen Gonser was born on February 6, 1967 at Devils Lake, ND the daughter of D. Ronald and Charlotte (Dwuletzki) Gonser. She was reared and educated in Devils Lake, graduating from Devils Lake High School in the class of 1985. She went on to receive her Associates of Art Degree from Lake Region State College.
Susanne married Brian Engstrom on October 10, 1987 in Devils Lake. They established their home in the Leeds area where they raised their two children, Chace and Cullen. Susanne worked for several years for Dr. Galleger in Devils Lake and then for the Dr. Lawson and Dr. Herman Dental Clinics in Devils Lake and Cando for five years. She then devoted her time to raising her family.
On March 25, 2006, Susanne was united in marriage to Gerald Stenson in Grand Forks. They established their home on the Stenson farm, rural Rock Lake, ND. From the beginning, Susanne became very active in the farming operation along side her husband and his family.
Susanne was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Devils Lake as she was growing up and now was a member of the Leeds Lutheran Church where she also had taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Leeds Active Women.
Susanne loved the outdoors and gardening, especially growing flowers and being a part of the farming and ranching operation. She enjoyed baking and had a very soft spot for animals, especially dogs.
Those sparkling eyes and bright, warm and caring smile will be missed by all but forever in our memory.
Susanne is survived by her husband, Gerald Stenson of Rock Lake
Her twelve year old daughter, Chace Engstrom and her eight year old son, Cullen Engstrom both at home in Leeds with their father, Brian Engstrom.

Sister: Jeanette Wixo and her husband Kevin, Grand Forks
Niece: Mandy Wixo
Many loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law also survive.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dwight W. and Dorothy M. Gonser and Emil and Luzie Dwuletzki.
