Norene A Green

Norene Green, 80 of Devils Lake, ND died on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake where she had been a resident for 20 years. Services for Norene will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake and Devils Lake Cemetery on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Reuben Schnaidt, Pastor of the Episcopal Church of the Advent will officiate. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Norene was born on April 14, 1930 in Devils Lake, ND the loving daughter of Theobald E.B. and Minnie A. Green. She lived her entire life in Devils Lake. Norene graduated from Devils Lake Central High School and took a secretarial course through Lake Region Junior College. She worked at several businesses as the secretary and bookkeeper including, Goldberg’s Furniture, Montgomery Ward, West Motor Parts and North Dakota School for the Deaf. She also helped with the family business-“Tubby’s Service Station”. Norene enjoyed traveling to see her brother and his family in Nebraska and always looked forward to his visits to Devils Lake. Norene loved to knit, shop and play the piano. She participated in the many activities at the Good Samaritan, enjoyed the many other residents she met through the years and appreciated the love and care she received from all the staff. As Norene’s family, we also thank the staff of the Good Samaritan Center for your excellent care and your friendship to Norene through the years. God bless you. Norene is survived by her sister-in-law, JoAnn Green of Omaha, Nebaska, niece, Kelly Stuckey and nephew, Ted Green. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dale Green.
