Margaret C. Barton, 95 of Devils Lake, ND died on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Heartland Care Center in the loving care of her family and Mercy Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Peter Sharpe will celebrate the Mass. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. The Rosary will be led by the Catholic Daughters. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Graveside Services will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Casket Bearers are Margaret’s grandsons, C.J. Dosch, Kevin Dosch, Nick Zink, Jeremy Barton, Kyle Barton, Garett Dosch and Andrew Barton; Honorary Bearers are Margaret’s grandchildren, Jacque Ziegler, Cindy Marturano, Brittney Kainz, Stephanie Vetter, Nicole Hutton, Lindsay Nohr, Kaitlyn Barton, Brad Cichos, Chad Cichos and Joel Cichos. Reading the Scriptures will be Nick Zink and Dave Cichos. Gift Bearers will be Jacque, Cindy, Brittney, Stephanie, Nicole, Lindsay and Kaitlyn. Music will be provided by Lynne Webster and Sherry Kurtz, vocalists and JoDee Lagein, organist. Margaret C. Dunphy was born October 11, 1914 to Walter and Josephine (Lepsch) Dunphy at Buchanan, North Dakota. She attended country school, graduated from St. John’s Academy and the two year Community Business College in Jamestown, ND. Margaret was united in marriage to Maurice Barton on August 16, 1941 in Jamestown. They moved to Devils Lake in 1949. Margaret was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Jude’s Circle, Catholic Daughters, American Legion Auxiliary and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She worked at Mercy Hospital before retiring in 1979. Margaret is survived by her husband, Maurice; children, Mary and her husband Dave Cichos of Rugby, Jerry Barton and his wife Mary of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Rebecca and her husband Gary Dosch of Devils Lake and Rosanne and her husband Paul Zink of Carrington, ND; Seventeen Grandchildren; Nineteen Great Grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Peters of Sun Lakes, Arizona; She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Colleen M. Barton; sisters, Mary Alice Tuhus Rood and Dolores Leahy; brothers, John Dunphy and Martin Dunphy.
