Rodney J. Fournier, Jr., 30 of Dickinson formerly of Fort Totten, ND died on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at St. Benedict’s Care Center in Dickinson.
Mass of Christian Burial for Rodney will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten. Fr. Charles Leute, O. P. will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Crow Hill, ND.
Visitation will be held on Monday beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m.
The Procession to Seven Dolors Catholic Church will leave the Wal-Mart Parking Lot at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Rodney will be Shawn Dogskin, Delwyn Littlewind, Keith Champagne, Newlyn Littlewind, Shilo Old Rock, Billy Tomahawk Jr., Cory Ziman and Giles Flute, Sannie Hostler and Doval Johnson.
Rodney John Fournier Jr. was born on November 29, 1975 at Devils Lake, ND the son of Rodney and Maureen Rose (Littlewind) Fournier Sr. He attended the Four Winds Elementary School at Fort Totten, Jefferson Elementary School and A. L. Hagen Jr. High School at Dickinson where he was very active in sports, especially basketball. He then attended Dickinson High School. At age 17, Rodney was seriously injured in an electrical accident and has since resided at the St. Benedict’s Care Center in Dickinson.
Rodney really loved old cars and pickups. He loved to fix cars and travel around North Dakota with his parents. He always insisted on being the driver of the car and many of the trips were back to Fort Totten to visit his dear family and friends. Some of the most memorable family time for Rodney was watching daytime television and soap operas with the family. It was always a source of good laughs and good conversation for all.
Rodney was always a joy to be around. Everyone loved Rodney for his gentle spirit and the kindness and concern he always showed for others. He was so dearly loved and will be forever missed.
