Mary E. Farley, 91 of Devils Lake, ND formerly of British Columbia, Canada and Alhambra, California died on Friday, September 29, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.
Burial will be held in the spring of 2007 at Forest View Cemetery in California.
Mary Elizabeth Thompson was born on April 6, 1915 in Alhambra, California, the daughter of Hiram and Ruth (Farrel) Thompson. She attended Alhambra Public School and later graduated from Whittier College with her Masters Degree in Education. She was united in marriage to Emery Fisher Sr. in 1940 and they established their home in California. She taught elementary school and later was a reading specialist. Most of her teaching years were in Nevada City, California. In 1950 she married James Patterson. She later married Bruce Farley and he died on June 4, 2005. For over 25 years, Mary made her home in British Columbia, Canada and in 2004 she moved to Devils Lake to be closer to family.
Mary loved to travel and made several trips to Europe and even made her home in Europe for a year. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed collecting paintings and other works of art.

Daughters: Beth Patterson of Reno, Nevada
Jamie Patterson of Denver, Colorado
Grandchildren: Emery Fisher, Everett Fisher, Margaret (Mike) Sonmor and James Stewart.
Great Grandchildren: Kayla Fisher and Elizabeth Sonmor.
She was preceded in death by her parents and spouses, Emery, James and Bruce.
