Clara L. Dammen

Clara L. Dammen (90) of Devils Lake, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at ManorCare Nursing Home in Fargo, ND, surrounded by her grandchildren. She was in the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 11:00 am at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Rev. Harold Ovre will officiate. Friends may sign the register book at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday, August 25, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to services at the church. Clara was born on January 21, 1916 on the farm in Edmore, ND where she was raised and educated. She married Kindred Dammen on November 22, 1940; they made their home in Devils Lake, ND. Kindred died on June 24, 1978. Clara was a homemaker and performed housekeeping services for businesses as well as many individuals in the Devils Lake area for many years. She was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and volunteered for many programs throughout the community. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Kindred, Daughter: June Bye, Parents: Minnie & Gustav Alm, Brothers: Glen, Virgil, Robert, & Larry, Sisters: Lorraine Besse, Florence Kringstad and Niece: Linda (Kringstad) Ackerman. Clara is survived by her, Sister: Agnes (Babe) West, Jamestown, Grandchildren: Scott (JoNell) Bye, Barb Henderson, Bob (Heidi) Bye all of Fargo. Great Grandchildren: Megan & Jared Bye, Alex & Samantha Henderson and Katelyn & Bryce Bye. Son-In-Law: Darrel Bye, Devils Lake. Brother in law: Earl Besse, Devils Lake. Sisters in law: Mildred Hessling, Devils Lake, Mable Alm, Minneapolis, MN and Karn Alm, Thornton, CO, many nieces & nephews and countless friends. Clara touched many lives and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Memorials can be made on Clara's behalf to St. Olaf "radio fund" and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Clara's family and friends. Reading Scripture will be Clara’s niece, Suzi Senger Scott Bye will give the eulogy. Interment: Devils Lake Cemetery following the service
