Mary E. Jager, 89 of Devils Lake, ND died on Tuesday evening, August 1, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be on Monday, August 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. C.F. Wilhelm will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 4:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Mary will be Bruce Ludwig, Tommy Jager, Steve Jager, Ed Jager, Bob Jager and Dan Jager.

Mary E. Jager was born in Towner, ND on February 3, 1917, the daughter of Frank and Barbara (Ochs) Jager. At a young age, she moved with her parents to Cato Township, rural Webster, ND where she was reared and educated attending Cato Township School. For several years, Mary helped on the family farm. In 1951, she moved to Devils Lake and worked as a waitress in several restaurants and cafes for many years. She also worked as a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Center and Parish Center for a number of years.
Mary devoted much of her life to caring for her mother. For hobbies, Mary enjoyed crocheting and was an excellent baker. Above all, Mary had a deep and devout Catholic faith.
Mary was a member St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and after moving to Devils Lake was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Jude’s Circle. She belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters and also the RSVP Program. She was also an active member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
