Gerhardt "Gary" Sollin

Gerhardt “Gary” Sollin, 71 of Devils Lake, ND died early Saturday morning, May 13, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Gary will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Rev. Harold Ovre officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby, ND on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Casket Bearers for Gary will Dan Sollin, Dean Sollin, James Sollin, Dwight Jelsing, Kenny DuBois and John Sletteland. Gary was born August 9, 1934, son of Bennie and Florence (Jelsing) Sollin in Rugby, ND. He moved with his parents to Florence, South Dakota in his junior year and graduated from Florence High School in 1952. Gary was united in marriage to Marlys Engebrit in September of 1952. He worked in Grain Elevators in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota, moving to Devils Lake in 1970. He also worked at the Devils Lake Law Enforcement Center, Armors Truck Stop and worked out of his home selling and repairing Kirby Vacuum Cleaners. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and former member of the Devils Lake Elks, Eagles and Odd Fellows Lodges. Gary is survived by his wife, Marlys Sons: Gerald Sollin and his wife, Karen of Bottineau, ND Grant Sollin and his wife, Lisa of Loveland, Colorado Daughter: LeaAnn Dolan and her husband, Robert of Grafton, ND Seven Grandchildren: Jenny (Chris) Kratochvil, Oakdale, MN Jamie Sollin, Alexandria, MN Tracy Sollin, Fargo, ND Emily and Travis Dolan, Grafton, ND Hannah and Garrett Sollin of Loveland, Colorado Brother: Dale Sollin and his wife, Doris of Oro Valley, Arizona Sister: Myrna Stadheim and her husband, Robert of Chandler, Arizona He was preceded in death by his parents.
