Eunice J. (Ross) Green, “Hapa” 75 of Tokio, ND passed to the Spirit World on Monday, May 8, 2006 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake, ND. Funeral Services for Eunice will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church, rural Tokio, ND. Pastor Larry Thiele will officiate and burial will be in the Bdecan Cemetery, rural Tokio. A Wake and Prayer Service will be held for Eunice on Monday, May 15, 2006 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the church. The Prayer Service will be at 8:00 p.m. Music will be provided by June and Larry Lockwood, Tony McDonald and family, Ray Flying Nice, Willie Atkins and Clifford Littlewind. The Procession to Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Monday from the Wal-Mart Parking Lot. Serving as Active Casket Bearers for Eunice will be Terry Smith, Duane Smith, Dennis Smith, Russell Wallace, Louie Garcia, Todd White, Clifford Littlewind and Darin Green. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ernestine Herman, Myra Quinne, Elaine Sherman, Evelyn Ross, Larry and June Lockwood, Ordell Guy, Howard and Francis Smith, Pauline Merrick, Edith Wallace, Renita Shaw, Sharon Georgeson, Hilda Garcie, Cheryl GoodIron, Gerry Guy, Larry and Darla Thiele, Pauline Yankton, Helena Littleghost, Elaine Robertson, Lois Leben, Eunice’s relatives from Sioux Valley, Canada and the Hospital Staff of Grand Forks Altru Hospital, Northwood Hospital and Devils Lake Mercy Hospital. Eunice Jean Ross was born on March 23, 1931 at Wood Lake, ND the daughter of George and Christine (Stone) Ross. She attended school at Calvary Square Boarding School in Fort Totten. She was united in marriage to Lawrence J. Green Sr. on February 21, 1953. They established their home in the Fort Totten area. Eunice worked for a time at Sioux Manufacturing, the St. Jude’s Retirement Home and also for the Green Thumb Program. Lawrence passed away in November of 1985. Eunice had several hobbies and pastimes, but had a love of animals and had a special fondness for her cats. Eunice was so thankful for the love and care her children, grandchildren, sisters and cousins had given to her these last months and counted them as a special blessing from above. May God bless the memory of Eunice and may she rest in God’s peace. Eunice is survived by her children; Lawrence (Eva) Green Jr., Browning, Montana George (Anita) Green, Fort Totten, ND Marveen (Ricardo) Eliserio, Ogden, Utah Milton Green of Kentucky Dalton (Lois) Green, Wood Lake, ND Robert (Marcella) Green, Fort Totten Richard (Shirley) Green, Glasgow, Montana Charlene (Jerry) Blackbird, Wood Lake, ND Ross (Stacy) Green, St. Michael, ND Sisters: Margie Ross, Fort Totten Priscilla Touche, Tokio, ND Twenty-Five Grandchildren Twenty-Five Great Grandchildren Cousins: Amelia Kjalass and Kenneth Dunn She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Green Sr.; parents, George and Christine Ross; daughters, Dorothy SpottedBird and Margaret Small; sisters, Evelyn Ruth Ross and Katie TwoHearts; brother, John Ross Sr.; nephew, Delvin Ross; niece, Miriam Ross; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
