Timothy “Tim” Thomas, “Ohitika Hoksina” (Brave Boy), 44 of Fort Totten, ND died on Thursday morning, July 20, 2006 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake, ND. Mass of Christian Burial for Tim will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten. Fr. Charles Leute, O.P. will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, Crow Hill, ND. All horseback riders are welcome to accompany to the St. Jerome’s Cemetery; starting from Crow Hill Recreation Center on Thursday. The Wake Service will be at the Crow Hill Recreation Center on Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Serving as Active Casket Bearers for Tim will be Marty Alex, Bentley Greybear Sr., Russell McDonald, Laidman Fox, Jr., Terry Dunn and Adrian Thomas Sr. Honorary Pallbearers will Christine Alex, Lillian Mudgett, and Lorraine Greybear, aunts, Herbert Thomas, uncle and Michael Thomas, Lilly Shaw, Ardis Shaw, Mark Shaw, Barney Shaw, Audie Swiftbird, Chadd Keo, Todd Yankton, Margo Azure, Joe Azure, Adele “Bubbles’ Shaw, Charlene Jetty, Andrea Peltier, Lavina Littlewind, Joanna Dubois, Ambrose Littlewind, Jr., Elaine Robertson, Kermit and Carol Walking Eagle, Carl and Barbara Walking Eagle, Norma and Craig Littleghost, Ronnie and Connie McKay, Bruce and Penny Walking Eagle, Justin and Judi (Ami) Cavanaugh, Dallas and Lois Littlewind, Paula and Wilbur Medicine Stone, Lorna and Ron Walking Eagle, Lorna Walking Eagle, Peter Owlboy, Arthur Mudgett, Melvin Greybear Jr., Isaac Twohearts, Melanie Robertson and Edward LaVallie. Music will be provided by the Ivan Lovejoy Drum Group, Laidman Fox Jr. Drum Group, Tony and Vina McDonald, Ardell Blueshield and Frank Hapa. Timothy Dean Thomas was born on March 4, 1962 at Devils Lake, ND the son of Richard and Winifred (Buck Elk) Thomas Sr. He was raised and educated in the Crow Hill area. After receiving his GED he attended Lake Region State College, Devils Lake and received certification in the Auto Mechanics Field. He worked for a time as a CHR with the Spirit Lake Tribe, at the Spirit Lake Casino and most recently worked for Sioux Manufacturing. Timothy lived his whole life on the Spirit Lake Reservation with his common law wife of 19 years, Rebecca Twohearts and children, Tyler Michael, Terrell Joseph, Tanya Alissa, Taeya Rose and Tiffany Dawn Thomas all of Fort Totten. Other Survivors: Children: Vincent Thomas and Caroline Hill Mother: Winifred Thomas of Crow Hill Brothers: Richard (Marie) Thomas Jr., Ellendale, ND Michael (Della) Thomas, Brockton, Montana Adrian (Charlene) Thomas, Devils Lake Casey Thomas, Crow Hill Paul (JoAnn) Yankton also Crow Hill Sisters: Marilyn Thomas Joyce Youngbear Wanda (Fred) Longie Anna (Gerard) Scott, Cynthia Thomas all of Crow Hill Adopted Sister: LaVerne Fox of Fort Totten Godchild: Alisha LaVallie Many Nieces and Nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his father, Richard Thomas Sr.; grandfathers, Michael Thomas Sr. and Robert Buck Elk; grandmothers, Rosalie Thomas and Mary Buck Elk; brothers, Duane Thomas and Milton Thomas; sister, Cheryl (Thomas) Keo.
